You fellow herders know that it's just in our blood to HAVE to work, right? Well when my humans brought another Wire Fox Terrier home in February I wasn't too sure about him, but now we're good buddies because he lets me herd him around. He makes lots of racket and keeps trying to get away, but I've even figured out how to grab that red thing around his neck and put him where he needs to be! Oh my humans said to please ignore the messy bedroom, but remind you that they share that room with four of us furries.
UPDATE: CNN and the UK Telegraph have both reported that the dogs have been rescued since the footage aired, and are both receiving veterinary care; the more seriously wounded dog is at a clinic in the city of Mito, while the protective spaniel-type dog is receiving care at a shelter in the same town.
Here is an English translation of the voiceover exchange between the two reporters in the clip (translation courtesy of Toshiyuki Kitamura):
We are in Arahama area. Looks like there is a dog. There is a dog. He looks tired and dirty. He must have been caught in the tsunami. He looks very dirty.
He has a collar. He must be someone's pet. He has a silver collar. He is shaking. He seems very afraid.
Oh, there is another dog. I wonder if he is dead.
Where?
Right there. There is another dog right next to the one sitting down. He is not moving. I wonder. I wonder if he is alright.
The dog is protecting him.
Yes. He is protecting the dog. That is why he did not want us to approach them. He was trying to keep us at bay.
I can't watch this. This is a very difficult to watch.
Oh. Look. He is moving. He is alive. I am so happy to see that he is alive.
Yes! Yes! He is alive.
He looks to be weakened. We need to them to be rescued soon. We really want them rescued soon.
Oh good. He's getting up.
It is amazing how they survived the tremendous earthquake and tsunami. It's just amazing that they survived through this all.
My human sister and daddy took momma for a secret trip this morning and they came back with a new brother! He looks very much like Angel Tucker and Daddy says that Angel Tucker brought him to us. He came from a place in Missouri called Animal Fair Foundation for Animals in Risk. Momma will make a blog for him and when she does I'll post the link, but for now how about a slide show and video? He's a bundle of energy and loads of fun!
I love it when the humans get a snow day cuz it means more fun for us! Here we are romping around in the blizzard while our human daddy was out shovelling snow.
Here's a series of pictures showing Katie herding Libby. Well actually only the first pic shows that, the rest show us laying on the futon. Notice how I, Katie, appear to be in control of Libby! Even after she stuck out her tounge at me I made sure she laid where she was supposed to so I could get up there too.
Make sure to read the cartoon at the top of my page. When my humans saw that they thought it was so cute!
I just put my story from my first blog post on the Animal Rescue site. You can read my personal story here , Libby's story here, and if you're rescued you can type your story there too! If you qualify you can be eligible to enter to win a grant for your local shelter to help other furries find their forever homes just like we did. My momma says to tell you that she likes looking around at all the pawsome things for sale on that site!
She said she was gonna do it and she's finally getting it done! Yup, she's making pet cards, like "Happy Barkday" and "Sorry for the loss of your friend". She put them in her Etsy shop Eco Chique Boutique and would love it if you'd give them some lovin and spread the word. Eventually she's going to put my mug on some and also Angels Charmin and Tucker, maybe even Libby and Charlie and oh yeah, the cats too. When she does I'll tell you all about those too, but for now here's one of her latest. Oh she got the pictures off the back of an old calendar that was going to be thrown in the trash! One of the cleaning guys at work is rescuing them, hey that's just like me, Libby and Charlie... we were all rescued too!!!
What fun we had yesterday while our humans had snow days and we had them all to ourselves!

I'm not sleeping, I'm hiding. Why? Scroll down and you'll see!!!
They finally took off my cone yesterday, so I thought I'd show you how my owie was healing. Can you tell how relaxed I was without that silly cone on my head?
Any idea what this is on my nose? Maybe left over from getting poked by the metal stitches when I tried to get them out?
I hope you all had a great weekend and didn't get too spooked if there were any fireworks near you. Lucky for all us furries in this house there weren't any, but the other night I thought there were and it was thunder. Yeah, thunder and sleet... go figure!
